Our History

The Birth of MU4C

The year was 1999. For the founder of Men United 4 Christ (MU4C), it was a year of radical, life-altering change—a personal "Road to Damascus" moment that birthed a new Christian faith. Just months into this new journey, a desperate phone call set in motion the creation of a movement that is still changing lives today.

The Olympian's Crisis

In December 1999, the phone rang. It was an anxious, worried voice belonging to the English 110-meter hurdles record holder, Tony Jarrett. Tony, a world-class athlete and multiple Olympic competitor, was in crisis: his first drug test sample, Sample A, was positive for nandrolone

A Friday Night Revelation

In January 2000, a small group of about 15-20 Christian men from various churches gathered in a room. The purpose was simple: to pray for Tony Jarrett. What followed was a complete surprise as men began speaking openly about their own struggles.

The Victory and The Legacy

The answer to their prayers came on February 24, 2000. Tony Jarrett was cleared when Sample B tested negative. Out of the desperation of one man, and the powerful honesty of that single prayer meeting, Men United 4 Christ (MU4C) was officially formed.

Tough Mudder

For the past six years, MU4C has proudly participated in Tough Mudder, a demanding team-based obstacle course that tests both physical endurance and collective spirit.

What began as a 5K challenge with 10 obstacles has evolved into a gruelling 15K trek featuring 22 obstacles, which we successfully completed in our most recent outings. These runs are more than just a test of fitness; they are a vehicle for giving back. We dedicate each event to supporting vital organisations and charities, having previously raised funds for The Rudolph Walker Foundation, The Errol Mackellar Foundation, and The Joe Morris Legacy.

This September, our team of ten men will return to the course. Driven by months of rigorous training, we are committed to conquering the challenge once again to raise awareness and support for our valued partners.
